A black squirrel takes minutes to climb a tree. A brown squirrel takes minutes to do the same. Which squirrel climbs the tree faster and by how much?

ABlack squirrel, mins
BBlack squirrel, mins
CBrown squirrel, mins
DBrown squirrel, mins

There is an error in the solution. If we compare 55/20 (distance covered by the black squirrel) and 28/20 (distance covered by the brown squirrel), then obviously 55/20 is greater. (the distance covered by the black squirrel). But in the solution, it is said that the brown squirrel has traveled more distance. Which is actually wrong. I request SOF Olympiad Trainer to correct it.

(D):  P + 1 = Q

⇒ P = Q - 1

Now, P + Q = 15

⇒ Q - 1 + Q = 15

⇒ 2 Q = 15 +1

⇒ 2 Q = 16

⇒ Q = 8

As, P + 1 = Q

⇒  P = 8 - 7 = 1

Study the given statements and choose the correct option.
Statement 1 : A trinomial x2 + px + q can be factorised as (x + a) (x + b) = x2 + (a + b)x + ab, where a + b = p and ab = q.
Statement 2 : If (x + a) is the factor of a trinomial x2 + px + q then at x = a, the value of x2 + px + q is zero.

AStatement 1 is true and statement 2 is false.
BStatement 1 is false and statement 2 is true.
CBoth statements 1 and 2 are false.
DBoth statements 1 and 2 are true.
