D

If these toxic chemicals enter the nearby waterbodies, they cause the microalgae population in the water-body to grow uncontrollably, causing algal bloom. These algae lower the oxygen levels in the water and cause harm to aquatic life. Toxic chemicals mixed with soil and water are absorbed by food plants and they become unfit for consumption. Toxic chemicals in the soil will cause soil pollution and water pollution. They will not cause air pollution.

Reusing old cans, bottles and newspapers means you won’t be buying new ones from market. This will help to conserve natural resources that are used for making new cans, bottles and newspapers. So, this will help to control environmental pollution.
