the answer is option c as the compass needle always points to south pole of a magnet.in this figure the compass needle is pointing towards the left hand side magnet's pole which means that pole's polarity is south and the pole of right hand side magnet is north. you should do a practical of this figure!

Man carries out deforestation to provide space for buildings and farms. Some also cut down trees to provide wood for furniture and paper manufacturing. Which of the following would possibly result from the above activities?
(i) Top soil erosion may occur.
(ii) Some animals may become extinct.
(iii) There may arise a problem of global warming.
(iv) Some possible sources of natural drugs to cure diseases may be lost.

A (i) and (ii) only
B (iii) and (iv) only
C (i), (ii) and (iii) only
D (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv)

Ans is D because top soil erosion will occur. Because of less trees, there will not be enough supply of food, so herbivores will become extinct, if there will no herbivores, there will be no carnivores and omnivores also. As carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, more amount of carbon dioxide will cause global warming. And trees are used to make some medicines, so if trees wil be not there, this will lead to loss of some medicines.
