I don't understand why answer is D because all options A, B and C are correct. As it is said that plant X spread in the entire area, it has to be explosion, as it covers only a short distance. here the answer is a because the displacement means that shortest distance covered by our body here it is xy (pythagorus theorum that sum of underoot of the squars of arm and base = the hypotenuse so the xy is shorter so the displacement would be xy)
