Read the passage and answer the questions that follow. Nobody likes travelling in a hot car, especially in the summer. If you are lucky you may have AC, but many cars either don't have ACs that work or don't have them at all. So, like most people when you get hot and stuffy you open the window to let in the passing air. Now, what do you do if you are in an airplane? Well the easiest answer is to ask a crew member or try to reach the AC yourself. They are quite high on the ceiling of an airplane, which makes it difficult to reach for most people. Recently, there have been two examples of what can happen when new travellers try to cool themselves down. One man said he had been feeling hot and needed some air for hours on a long flight. He got so warm that he decided to pull the handle next to him and below the window. He thought this would wind the window down. What happened next was a big shock. The whole door fell away from the plane. He panicked, but the plane landed safely, and no one was hurt. He got arrested and given a very big fine of around $11,000. A second man did something very similar but this time it was before the plane had even taken off. He said that he needed a bit of fresh air before they left so that he wouldn't feel sick on the journey. The crew removed him from the plane and gave him a smaller fine of $500. The airplane was delayed by only 1 hour. The moral behind these stories is probably that one should always read the instructions or ask someone for help in situations that are new and confusing. I think we all get baffled sometimes when we find ourselves in brand new places. It's quite fun! How did the man feel when the door fell off? AGrumpy BExcited CAlarmed DEmbarrassed
