READ THE PASSAGE AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THAT FOLLOW.
There were once six blind men who stood by the roadside every day and begged from the people who passed. They had often heard of elephants, but they had never seen one. How could they; they were blind?
It so happened one morning that an elephant was driven down the road where they stood. When they were told that the great beast was before them, they asked the Mahout to let it stop so that they might see it.
Of course they could not see the elephant with their eyes, but they thought that by touching it they could learn just what kind of animal it was.
The first one happened to put his hand on the elephant's side. "Well, well!" he said, "now I know all about this beast. It is exactly like a wall."
The second felt only the elephant's tusk. "My brother," he said, "You are mistaken. It is not at all like a wall. It is round and smooth and sharp. It is more like a spear than anything else."
The third happened to take hold of the elephant's trunk. "Both of you are wrong," he said. "Anybody who knows anything can see that this elephant is like a snake."
The fourth reached out his arms and grasped one of the elephant's legs. "Oh, how blind you are," he said. "It is very plain to me that it is round and tall like a tree."
The fifth was a very tall man, and he chanced to take hold of the elephant's ear. "The blindest man ought to know that this beast is not like any of the things that you name," he said. "It is exactly like a huge fan."
The sixth was very blind indeed, and it was some time before he could find the elephant at all. At last he seized the animal's tail. "Oh foolish fellows," he cried, "you surely have lost your sense. This elephant is not like a wall or a spear or a snake or a tree, nor is like a fan. But any man with a particle of sense can see that it is exactly like a rope. Then the elephant moved on, and the six blind men sat by the roadside all day and quarreled about it. Each believed that he know just how the animal looked, and each called the other unkind names because they did not agree with each other.
Which of the following sentences is false?

A There were six blind men.
B The second man felt only the tusk of the elephant.
C It was the fourth man who correctly described the elephant.
D The elephant left but the men continued to argue.

READ THE PASSAGE AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THAT FOLLOW.
Plants and animals have the hard job of surviving in a very wild world. How do they do it? There are many ways plants and animals have adapted in order to survive. Camouflage is one way animals adapt to survive. For some animals, this means that their fur, scales, or skin are a similar colour to the land around them. Deer, for example, have brown fur that blends in with the trees, so it’s harder for predators to see them. This saves them from becoming prey to a larger animals. Some animals can change colour to match their environment. Many people think of chameleons when they think of this type of camouflage, but rabbits are a great example as well. Some rabbit’s fur will change colours depending on the season. Their fur might be brown in the spring, summer and fall to match the trees, but the brown fur will fall out and white fur will grow in the winter to blend in with the snow. This way the rabbit is safer from predators year-round.
Some insects, instead of blending in with their environment, look like something else that will deter animals from eating them. A walking stick looks just like a stick so that predators will pass it by without noticing it. Katydids mimic leaves. Some moths and butterflies have designs on their wings that make them look like snakes or owls, to scare away their predators.
For some plants, however, they don’t want to blend in; they want to stand out to survive! Many plants grow flowers with colourful petals to attract bees. The bees help pollinate the flowers so that they can produce new flowers. Instead of hiding, some plants and animals develop structures that aim to hurt anything that tries to hurt them. Some plants develop thorns so that animals will not eat them. Some animals have extremely sharp teeth, horns and claws so they can fight off other animals. Porcupines and hedgehogs have spikes, called quills or spines, covering their backs so animals won’t dare to mess with them, let alone eat them!
Which word in the passage means the same as ‘imitate’?

A Pollinate
B Camouflage
C Mimic
D Blend

The question says "My little sister____ a new laptop" Everyone is saying that it will be option BIf we put it in the sentence, it will be "My little sister 'was bought' a new laptop" which makes no sense, literally or grammatically. It don't think it would be option B, instead it should be option D "My little sister 'had bought' a new laptop"

"was bought" is correct in the sense that it was bought for her by someone else, but I feel that "bought" is also correct, implying that she treated herself.

In my opinion, the answer could be either option (A), option (B) or option (D). Both option (A) and option (D) imply that the 'little sister' bought a laptop for herself on her birthday, which is a normal thing to do. Option (B) implies that someone else had bought a laptop for her, as a gift. Thus, all three options are correct. Option (B) is given as the answer based on the stereotype that a 'little sister' is young, which is inaccurate as she can also be old and able to earn her own money, and buy herself gifts.

I think answers A and B make sense to me, but I unfortunately answered A, which was wrong.

I answered D option which turned out to be incorrect. Instead, the answer was B which is clearly grammatically wrong.
