Read the given passage and answer the questions 46 and 47.
The force of friction not only tends to stop a moving object, it also tends to stop a stationary object from moving. That is why it is difficult to push a stone to get it to move on a rough surface.

Friction is almost independent of.
(i) velocity of moving body
(ii) Weight of moving body
(iii) Nature of contact surface of moving body
(iv) Shape of moving body

A(i) and (iv)
B(ii) and (iii)
C(ii) only
DNone of these

when velocity is 0 static friction comes into play and when the velocity increases kinetic fraction comes into action and thus the friction decreases

Ans 1:

Class : Class 6
AND when shape of an object is spherical it undergoes rolling friction and when the shape is a flat surface the moving object undergoes sliding friction which is greater than rolling friction

Ans 2:

Class : Class 8
Friction depends on the shape of the body as well....the option is incorrect

Ans 3:

Class : Class 5
shape of the body affects the drag friction also sliding and rolling friction would be same if shape did not matter.

Ans 4:

Class : Class 9
But if the shape of the object is streamlined then then the force of friction exerted on it will be less

Ans 5:

Class : Class 9
ya i agree with u both
