Neglecting the rotation of earth, if suddenly the attractive power of the earth drops to zero, a man standing on the earth will

AFly up
BSlide along the surface
CMove out tangentially
DStand unaffected.

How come??

As there is attractive force of earth that is there is no gravitation force. So it will be just as the condition Of space. Therefore he will fly.

Ans 2:

Class : Class 8
The answer says move out tangentially, but I don't understand how.

Ans 3:

BUt in the question, as it is written, that there is no earth rotation to be considered, then from newton's first law of motion(intertia), the man will remain stationary. I have confirmed from other sources also.

let me explain. There some things to consider- the friction on ground, the air resistance(negligible), rotation of earth(Centrifugal force as the man is in non inertial frame) and gravitational force. As soon as the gravity disappears, there are only three force- air(negligible, friction, and earths rotation. Because of his inertia due to being in under constant action of centrifugal force, he will fly out tangentially

The answer is (A) He will fly.

Ans 6:

Class : Class 9
option {D} :-no gravitation, no normal reaction. hence there is no net force on the man
