Which of the following statements is not correct in case of an electric fuse?

AIt is a safety device which prevents damages to electrical circuits and possible fires.
BIts working is based on the principle of heating effect of electric current.
CIf a proper fuse is inserted in a circuit it will blow off if current exceeds the safe limit.
DNone of these.

Isn't the answer supposed to be C because a fuse melts when the current exceeds the safe limit breaking the circuit. It doesn't explode or blow off if the current exceeds the safe limit
