A piece of string was cut, making two pieces 10 inches long and 7 inches long. How long was the string before it was cut?


A 3 inches
B 17 inches
C 27 inches
D 9 inches


The answer should be C, 27 inches (2 pieces of 10 inches long and one piece of 7 inches)
