The answer given is wrong. A verb in a sentence can't be transitive and intransitive at the same time. The given sentence is a complex sentence as follows:Sheenu was crying all day long (because) Mom had given the cookie to her sister, Shuchi.Here is "because" is understood. Here "was crying" is an intransitive verb and the whole of the 2nd part ("Mom had .... Shuchi") as adverbial clause of the principal clause "Sheenu was crying all day long"
