Carrots have seeds, I found the website where the solution has come fromhttps://homeguides.sfgate.com/propagate-carrots-24578.htmlif you plant carrots by root in the soil, it won’t ,t produce an edible root. However there are many video on the web of people planting a bit of a carrot’s root in water and getting a plant out of it. I feel that using seeds is easier and more productive than using roots.
