I think it should be a cone because the bottom surface of a cone is round

I faced the same problem. I do think that egg is the appropriate answer.

Actually the answer is metal ring . if we will put light on it a hollow circular shadow will be formed while we can make a circular shadow by other 3 objects by arranging them in different angles
