What is the difference between the usage of present perfect tense and simple past tense?

present perfect tense is for the near past or things that have just happened while simple past are thing that happened some time and not in the near past

We use simple past tense to express an action which took place in the past or was completed before the time of speaking We use present perfect tense for an action which began in the past and completed by the time speaking/or results of which we can notice in the present.
