A stone falls freely under gravity. It covers distances h1, h2 and h3 in the first 5 seconds, the next 5 seconds and the next 5 seconds respectively. The relation between h1, h2 and h3 is

A h2 = 3h1 and h3 = 3h2
B h1 = h2 = h3
C h1 = 2h2 = 3h3
D h1 = h2/3 = h3/5


Isn't the right answer (a)

yes, (a) is the right answer as due to accelaration by gravity, velocity of any freely falling object will increase continuously. So, (b) is wrong as h1, h2 and h3 are given equal, (c)is wrong too as it is given that covered distance decreases after every 5 seconds, and (d) is also wrong for the same reason.

Class : Class 9
Option D is the correct answer as the ratio between H1 H2 and H3 is 1: 3 : 5.
