Few statements regarding the distribution of electrons in the energy shells are given. Which of the following statements is not correct?
A For fourth energy shell (N), the maximum number of electrons is 32 according to 2n2 rule.
B When N is the outermost shell of an atom, it can accommodate a maximum of 8 electrons only.
C The filling of the fourth shell begins even before the third shell is completely filled.
D Fifth shell can accommodate 50 electrons according to 2n2 rule.

C should be the answer! a- 2*4^2=32. b-the outermost shell always has 8 to gain perfect stability or become a noble gas. c-wrong, filling always starts from the first, second, third, THEN fourth. d-2*5^2=50

ans should no doubt be c because of the Hund 's rule and also fifth shell does accommodate 50 electrons according to 2n^2 :2*5^2=2*25=50.

Option B is wrong . As it is talking of the energy shell.
OR might be the question is incorrect as the all the options are correct as per my information.
