Ms Aggrawal bought two boxes of pens. Both boxes contained a total of 900 pens. The bigger box contained 120 more pens than the smaller box. How many pens were there in the smaller box?

A 400
B 390
C 320
D 350

A = 400 + 120 = 520 + 400 = 920 B = 390 + 120 = 510 + 390 = 900 C = 320 + 120 = 440 + 320 = 760 D = 350 + 120 = 470 + 350 = 820 As there are 900 pens in all, B 390 is correct.
