Question. Consider the following statements and select the option which correctly identifies true (T) and false (F). (i) Part that gives colour to the eye is iris. (ii) Transparent outer layer that refracts light is lens. (iii) Retina is a light sensitive layer of the eye. (iv) Cornea is a region without any sensory cells. (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) A: F T F T B: T F T T C: T T F F D: F F T T Given answer is D. But Iris is the coloured part of the eye, thus giving it colour. Solution says retina gives it colour, which is false. The Retina has photoreceptors called cones and rods. Cones are sensitive to red, green and blue light, this enabling us to see colour. While the iris gives colour to the eye, the retina enables the eye to see colour. Thus Option B should be the answer. Unless there any explanation for this?
