Which of the following are possible results when a steel bar is being magnetised by the stroking method?


A1 and 2 only
B1 and 3 only

Ans 1:

Class : Class 6
the answer will be B because the motion of the bar magnet should be RIGHT TO LEFT whereas in Fig. 3 the direction of stroking is LEFT TO RIGHT

The correct answer is D as in the first and second cases the direction of the strokes are as per the poles and in the third case the picture shows the opposite direction of the stroke but in the correct pattern.

answer should be d because in 1 and 2, direction of stroking is from right to left and thus, where the pole of the magnet is north and south, they will at the same place on the steel bar. in option 3, where the pole of the magnet is north/south, but on the steel bar it is the opposite(south/north). but because the direction is not left to right, but right to left, thus, all the options are correct.
