this is wrong if "to" work is substituted. Lets read the sentence, "So i had to pay for the damage to the car". We do not pay money to the car. If the sentence is reconstructed as follows then to makes sense. "So i had to pay for the damage that happened to the car". So the option should contain the word "of" or as above the sentence should be rewritten
