(i) It burns but does not melt.
(ii) It shrinks from flame.
(iii) It gives the odour of charred meat while burning.
(iv) It left residue after burning which is black, hollow, irregular bead that can be easily crushed to a gritty black powder.
(v) It is self extinguishing.
