The common error is to think that pressure at
0.4h above the surface of the reservoir of
mercury is 0.4 times the atmospheric pressure.
The pressure at p is caused by the weight of mercury above point P. Thus preesure at P
is equal to : 0.6x 100000 = 60000 Pa
