LENGTH, WEIGHT AND CAPACITY - ESSENTIAL POINTS
- Amon the lines given below, first line is the longest line and the second one is the shortest line.
- Suppose two children Ram and Shyam are sitting on a sea saw. If weight of Ram is 30 kilograms and the weight of Shyam is 25 kilograms, then see-saw will go down towards Ram's side, that is, Ram would be on lower side and Shyam on upper side of sea saw. This is becuase Ram’s weight is more than the weight of Shyam.
- If we can fill four litres of milk in 3 bottles, then we can fill eight litres in 6 bottles, ( 3 X 2 = 6, 4 X 2 = 8) and we can fill ( 3 X 3 = 9. 4 X 3 = 12 ) twelve litres of milk in 9 bottles.
- If the weight of apples is 5 kilograms and the weight of potatoes is 8 kilograms, then the total weight of apples and potatoes is 5 + 8 = 13 kilograms.
- If the capacity of the bottle is 12 litres and it holds 8 litres of water, then it can hold (12-8) 4 more litres of water.
- If the height of a tree is 16 meters and the height of a plant is 550 centimeters, then the difference between the height of the tree and the plant is
1,600 – 550 = 1,050 centimeters. - If the weight of four diamonds is 300 grams, and all the diamonds are of equal weight, then the weight of one diamond is (300/4) 75 grams.
- If trees are planted at a distance of 3 meters each on roadside, and the length of the road is 72 meters, then (72/3) 24 trees are planted on the roadside.
