How is divider used to draw parallel lines?

I think you could open the divider and mark 2 parallel indents on the paper then go a bit further and repeat the process.After you are satisfied you can join the dots using a scale to make 2 parallel lines.
Ans 2:
Class : Class 10
Can we use compass also? Anyone please post as soon as possible.
